The Presidents’ Coop & Condo Council’s efforts on behalf of home owners is well documented in a feature article appearing in the September, 2020 issue of Habitat Magazine. We were hailed as “Battle-Tested Coop Warriors” in this article.

The Presidents’ Coop & Condo Council continues to press our elected officials on the issue of the inclusion of the Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”). As you may be aware, the enrollment time period for the PPP Program has expired, but there is still federal money left in the program. Therefore, any future legislation would most likely reopen the PPP program in some fashion.  

In the last few days we have telephone conferences with staff members from both US Senator Charles Schumer’s office and US Senator Kristen Gillibrand’s office. The US Senate is currently as an impasse regarding a further Covid-19 aid package, and the sides are far apart, but we wanted to reemphasize the importance of making Coops eligible for PPP loans. 

At this point, we were informed that it is a “top priority” for Senator Schumer to have Coops included in this program.  We will certainly stop on top of this issue and hope things break in favor of Coop homeowners.
